postfix ok but cannot read or pop eMail

Hi all!

I need asistance!
I have a postfix server up and running. It works fine, i can send relay and receave. Postfi xthen deliveres the eMail faithfully to my Maildir/ style inbox. I can see my new messages in Maildi/new. I can read each messagefile with less or vi. The rights for the eMailfiles are set to 600 owned by user:usergroup. If i try to pop i get the message " no new messages on sever"... ???? Popserver up an running, sasl_auth works fine. Even if i try to read my mail on the server with pine, i can see the eMailfiles in my inbox, but pine says: "unable to open file xyz"...

Anybody an idea what the heck is going on?????

First, to the best of my knowledge pine does not support Maildir without a patch. It expects mbox format and nothing else.

Second, what pop server are you running? Not all pop servers recognize Maildir format. You might need to use something like Courier imap or Courier pop3.
