Screwy looking fonts

Hey all,,,,having a little font display problem. Using PP12,,when I edit some text,,it looks fine and as it should. When I click out of the text box the font takes on a whole different look. (not good). Click back in the box to edit it,,it changes to looking fine. That ring a bell with anyone or do ya need some more info?
(oh,,,it also prints odd looking too)

You'll need to give more info. What font(s) is this happening to? Every font? Only specific fonts? TT, T1, or OT fonts? What kind of printer do you have setup? etc, etc, etc.
