Is there any form of generic formula to calculate how much RAM to start with on an SQL Server I.E

#Users x #DataSize

I realize that a lot of other factors involved I am just looking for a Base "starting point"

2 Gigs is a nice base. Other than that, you'll have to play it by ear for the most part. If you have a SQL Server with a 10 Meg database you will need less RAM than a server with a 1 TB database.

I am looking at a start of 10 users and a 100 Gig table with a growth rate of about 100 Gig and 2 users per year
I have decided to use 8 gig of ram to start
