Hi,

Sorry I am new to all of this. We have one exchange 2003 server, although this may change middle of next year. We wish to deploy OWA and to mobile devices.

We also wish to use SSL. I see that this can be done two ways;

1. Using the windows process inhouse and create our own

or

2. Purchase a third party certificate.

What are the pro and cons to each way?

Do third part certificate provide better compatibility etc or other advantages?

Thanks in advance

A third party trusted certificate will be less grief for you in the long run. OWA users won't have to accept a security warning, and EAS will work correctly.

You can pick up a 3rd party Trusted Cert for about $30 so it's really a no-brainer.

$30 for a Cert? Every where I look they are over $100. Where can I get one for $30?

Hi,

Thanks for the advice , looks like 3rd party is the way to go.
