Static on Long Distance

Hi Folks,

I have a strange problem. Users are complaining that they sometimes hear static on the line when they place long distance calls. The called party doesn't hear the static. If they hang up and try it again, they sometimes get a clear connection. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

At least you have it nailed down to your LD, unless you don't have dedicated LD. You need more Detective work. Certain parts of country? Same people making calls? Can you do an enhanced trace on your own st and stat puonding the LD trunks & try to narrow it down to a specific T-1 or bear channel??

Contact your LD provider and have the test the lines.
Problem could be w/ the LD carrier, or within the PBX, or in the teleco room itself.
