I am having an issue where system administrator e-mails are causing outlook to hand when it opens them.
As soon as i deleted them it opens fine, and any other mail items have no problems.
I have taken limits off the mailbox with no effect. The only thing that makes any difference turning off the reading pane, then it only hangs when opening the item

Any ideas

Cheers

Chris

Could be a system log file included in the messsage?

I have some logs from a firewall that is 1000's of pages long but its only a few kb in size yet can take minutes to open.

On a pc that you don't use try opening the file and see what happens if you just leave it for hours. It might finally open then you'll know what the message is and either stop the message being delievered or setup a rule to deliver it else where so you can delete as appropriate.

I guess this happens with any client pc you use?

Any better with OWA?

Iain

Never really bothered me but

no attachment on it, the ones i am testing with at the mooment are just simeple text saying your mailbox is closed

Tried what you suggested and its lightening fast on OWA
