Hi,
i have installed CRM on windows 2003 server in native mode
and in different ads
i also have windows 2000 Ads in which my local user logs in
but since the windows 2000 is in mixed mode i could not install CRm on the same so i decided to install windows2003 Ads in native mode
Problem

my windows 2000 server users are not able to login to CRm vis outlook client as it says unknow name
when i enter it during client setup
but i am able to browse through Internet explorer and it pops up the username password screen where i type the administrative password of win2003 server as it does not take win2k users

can somebody help me so that my users in win2k server can use the CRM as well

Regards,

Papps

Hi Papps,

It could be a number things regarding permissions, IIS settings, or DNS, but I need to know more about your environment before I can help you. After installing CRM on your server(s) did you set up your CRM users through the CRM Depoyment Manager tool? If you did, your CRM users will have some AD group memberships that pertain to CRM and it shouldn't matter if they are 2000 or 2003.

By win2000 server users do you mean that they are on a separate domain form your 2003 users, or separate location?

Hi,

we do have to separate domains for both windows 2000 server and windows 2003

i need my user on windows 2000 server to login to windows 2003 server

Well I'm not sure now how CRM will work in your environment; it's an unusual configuration with two separate domains. I have my domain in native windows 2000 mode with some 2003 servers and CRM running. I take it your 2000 domain is in mixed mode because you have some NT domain controllers still? If not, you should merge the the two domains into one 2000 native mode domain then all your users will be able to access CRM with no problems.
