Hi all,
IP500V1 running 7.0.36 and using 2420/5420 and 5410 digital telephones. New interface to an external paging system via an analog station port. A user with digital station calls the analog station, the external paging system answers. When the user is finished, they will often toggle the telephone hookswitch (classic hookflash) with their finger before placing the handset in the cradle, in order to disconnect without broadcasting the handset clunk over paging. If they do this too quickly, it disconnects their end of the call, but essentially places the analog station on hold. The analog station is not left with hold music, but rather with intercom dialtone, which is then broadcast over the paging speakers. The very best solution is to train users to press the drop key to terminate a call, however old habits are hard to break. When this phenomenon happens, System Status shows the analog station "busy" with no connections. I can reproduce this at will. There are settings in Manager for analog extensions to define what is perceived as a valid hookflash, but these do not appear to have any effect on this situation. On paging system user, I've made a shortcode ?D to a basic Auto attend with no recordings and no actions - so it plays for one second then disconnects. This SOMETIMES helps - but not always. I've also increased the Disconnect pulse width in an attempt to better drop the paging device, result+no joy. Other than teaching several old dogs a new trick, any suggestions to resolve?
