Hi all,
IP500V1 running 7.0.36 and using 2420/5420 and 5410 digital telephones. New interface to an external paging system via an analog station port. A user with digital station calls the analog station, the external paging system answers. When the user is finished, they will often toggle the telephone hookswitch (classic hookflash) with their finger before placing the handset in the cradle, in order to disconnect without broadcasting the handset clunk over paging. If they do this too quickly, it disconnects their end of the call, but essentially places the analog station on hold. The analog station is not left with hold music, but rather with intercom dialtone, which is then broadcast over the paging speakers. The very best solution is to train users to press the drop key to terminate a call, however old habits are hard to break. When this phenomenon happens, System Status shows the analog station "busy" with no connections. I can reproduce this at will. There are settings in Manager for analog extensions to define what is perceived as a valid hookflash, but these do not appear to have any effect on this situation. On paging system user, I've made a shortcode ?D to a basic Auto attend with no recordings and no actions - so it plays for one second then disconnects. This SOMETIMES helps - but not always. I've also increased the Disconnect pulse width in an attempt to better drop the paging device, result+no joy. Other than teaching several old dogs a new trick, any suggestions to resolve?

Dialing *52 may help them if they do it again.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

@sizbut - I had tried making the ?D on analog station user as Clear Call, no joy. Since System Status doesn't show the call on hold at Digital station, it appears there's no connection to clear.

How are the analog settings for the paging extn configured

Analog extension set for IVR (to get disconnect pulse). Disconnect pulse is at 2550 ms (or max value - from memory). All else is back to default values. I tried setting the hookswitch min/max timers 10ms apart (20 and 30ms respectively), no change - likely because it's not the analog station, but rather the digital station that is hookflashing. Of course, there is no adjustment on a digital station for hookflash as it should always disconnect the call.

it should be set as a paging port
I suspect your amplifies is not really suitable for use if it is requiring a ringtone from the IPO

This isn't a typical amplifier, and definitely uses analog station level adapter. When user dials the analog station, paging provides a secondary dialtone from paging, allowing user to dial a room or all call. All works fine with the exception of users inadvertently hookflashing instead of dropping.
