When opening a table by double clicking on it's icon, VFP7 will load, open the table, and then open another instance of that table in another work area.

How the heck do I shut this off?????

It works right if you already have VFP 7.0 running, so I'd guess it's in VFP's startup code (double processing the request). Are you running SP #1? If yes, did you notice this before the upgrade?

Problem solved. It had something to do with having VFP6 and VFP7 installed simultaneously. Uninstalled 6 and 7 now works fine.

Go figure.

That's interesting, but since I'm still supporting VFP 6.0 (and VFP 5.0!) applications, that's not an option for me. I wonder what it is in the VFP 6.0 stuff that causes the problem? And why don't I see 3 tables with 5.0 installed? OR Why didn't I see this in VFP 6.0, before I installed 7.0?

I may have to do some registry "spelunking"!

My understanding is that the software needs installed in different folders? There are various post on here about this issue.

My eight versions of FoxPro are definitely in different folders, and I'm getting no other "conflicts". Since this is not really a very big deal, I'm not really worried about it. (I rarely open a .DBF by clicking on it in explorer, and it's even rarer I don't already have VFP 6.0 and/or 7.0 open!)

It's more of an "oddity" than something that I'd consider a real BUG.
