OK, here's the deal:

I'm trying to install Visio 2000 SR-1 Enterprise Edition onto my notebook (running Win2000 Server w/ SP1). The installer asks to update Windows system files, does so, and then restarts the computer. Simple, right?

But when I try running the installation again (with the supposedly updated files), it just does the exact same thing, acting as if it never updated them at all. Is this a problem with the installer itself, or my machine? Either way, is there a way I can fix it?

Thanx in advance

I had the same problem with my machine. I found that you could trick the Installer to treat the installation as a network install and then it works. Although it did not install most of the stencils.

Hope this helps.

The installer for Visio 2000 is miserable, and is laden with faults. Call tech support because they have many workarounds for the problems.

Or, you can now buy Visio 2002, which is much improved and has a seamless install.
