I am writing a Procomm ASPECT script for a client who has an Option 11. They are able to download a backup using XBK through a modem or direct connection, but if the switch is accessed over telnet (they have a dialout pool with a telnet front-end), the transfer never starts. Has anyone successfully run this functionality over a telnet connection? I'm not a switch guru, so hopefully that all makes sense. Thanks!

Just be careful the connection is 8 bits, No parity, 1 Stop bit. I do it regulary and have no problem with Procomm script also.

Hi, sorry for the late followup. Just to confirm, you are using Procomm, correct? And what are your telnet settings if you choose the Options | Telnet Options menu item in Procomm? Thanks!

Hi

My setup is :
Disable all telnet negotiation not checked
Negociate terminal size checked
Negociate terminal type checked
Set session to binary mode not checked
Allow automatic telnet logon checked
Force speed to disableSet Xwindow value to nothing

The terminal is VT 220 and Telnet

I think that's all...

Good luck

Hi Knob and dlesap, sorry, but i am so surprised with this subject ... I didn't know it was possible to access M1 with telnet, i have been using only rlogin with CRT program, but losing the possibilty of using lot of scripts tools from procomm...if that is really possible . would be wonderful cause i have a script to change the M1 patch versions ... and sending through COM it's such a pain.
By the way, Knob are you using Xmodem to transfer the backup file ? - with Rlogin it works perfectly
Thanks
