Have a customer who's reporting when they recieve a voicemail, when they go to listen to it, it plays a little bit of the message then cuts off, any ideas?

sounds like a faulty hard drive to me. Dose it stop at the same place each time they try and listen to it?

Are they using the handsfree function?
Let them try listening with the handset and mute activated.

It could be that the mic is picking up a sound that sounds like a DTMF-tone and thus cutting of the message as if a button was pressed. so disabeling the mic would rule that out.
It's a long shot but I've seen it happen on several voicesystems.

i have seen this happen as well, and in auto attendants as well. the way to test this in an aa is to turn off the ability to interupt prompts with digits. it makes you wait until the prompt is done to enter dtmf, so the recorded prompt can not simulate a dtmf tone.

muting the mic would do this in a vm box to stop the mic from picking up simulated dtmf in the message that was recorded by the caller.
